About Stepps

STEPPS amateur Theatre Group was established over thirty five years ago. We began initially with a concert, ‘A Night at the Music Hall.’ It was so successful that many people, including cast and audience, had such a great time asked, ‘So what’s next?’ That was thirty five years ago; since then we have gone on to perform many successful shows including; Calamity Jane, The Sound of Music, Annie, plus many more.

We have also performed over thirty traditional family pantomimes and a number of plays. Over the years people have come and gone; however, a number of our founder members of the cast and crew are still with us. Today we have a cast and crew of approximately thirty two people aged from seven years old to eighty plus.

We produce a pantomime every November and perform plays around June time, sometimes comedy - sometimes drama. We are a very relaxed and fun loving group who welcome anybody regardless of experience. However, we work hard and strive to produce and perform to as high a standard as possible.

Our audiences come back year after year and many of them tell us how much they enjoy the show often saying, ‘That was the best one yet!’ STEPPS is, and has always been, about people.

Those people who our cast and crew and those who are our audience. We love to perform and bring pleasure to many who might not have had any experience working in theatre or watching live performances. We are proud of our last thirty five years and hope that STEPPS will continue to grow for a great many more.
